Workplace App

The Workplace App is used by Facilities, Front of House, and Administrative staff to access the Kahu system. It provides insights and reporting into how your bookable resources are being used.

The exact functionality provided through this app will vary based on the modules an organisation has enabled, and what permissions the logged-in user has.

Booking Kiosk

The Kahu Booking Kiosk allows users to easily book hot desks anywhere in the building (or across a multi-building campus), as well as see available meeting rooms, or informal breakout spaces.

Users can swipe their access card on the reader to identify themselves, then view resources (e.g. desks, rooms, etc.) that they have assigned to them and book additional resources.

A hardware kit is available to ensure you have all the parts required. Get in touch for more information.

Booking Panel

Booking Panels are a quick way to see the status of a meeting room or other bookable area. The themeable interface can be customised to your brand, and displays the room’s bookings and availability as well as allowing for ad-hoc walk-up bookings.

When you arrive for your pre-booked meeting, simply check-in, so the room knows you have arrived. If a meeting hasn’t started after 15 minutes, the room is made available again to maximise your space utilisation.

Desk Controller

The Desk Controller is a modular set of hardware devices associated with a desk. This includes a sensor unit that sits under the desk detecting when someone is using it, a power control module that can turn the power on and off to the desk, the raise/lower desk control module (for sit-stand desks), and the LED indicator module that shows an at-a-glance status of the desk.

User App

The User App allows users to pre-book resources ahead of time using their device (laptop, tablet, or mobile), and then simply check-in at a kiosk using their access card when they arrive.

It also features a search function to help users find the people they need to speak to – not always easy in a hot-desking environment!
